Living By Faith .....

Other the years that I have been battling cancer, Faith has been the stablizing factor. The Apostle Paul taught that “faith is the substance [assurance] of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).  Faith is a principle of action and power. Whenever we work toward a worthy goal, we exercise faith. We show our hope for something that we cannot yet see.   In order for faith to lead to salvation, it must be centered in the Lord (Acts 4:10-12 ). We can exercise faith in Yahweh when we have an assurance that He exists, a correct idea of His character, and a knowledge that we are striving to live according to His will.
Having faith in Yahweh means relying completely on Him—trusting in His infinite power, intelligence, and love. It includes believing His teachings. It means believing that even though we do not understand all things, He does. Because He has experienced all our pains, afflictions, and infirmities, He knows how to help us rise above our daily difficulties.   Yahweh has “overcome the world” (John 16:33) and prepared the way for us to receive eternal life. He is always ready to help us as we remember His love and grace:  As I have walked this path I have learned alot about myself and my relationship with Yahweh,  I use to believe that faith was just believing that Yahweh was Yahweh,  But over this past few years I have learned that it is the bare knowledge that Yahweh will do what he said he would,  That he never changes, that at my lowest he was with me.  Faith is not just believing it is knowing.

Because I have always felt the universe has dealt me a hand that has been too hard to carry at times. I made myself a promise that my children would feel what I never have loved and cared for.    Every parent I know wants what’s best for their children. But our idea of what is best for them might not always jibe with their ideal’s.   I am often in a battle with myself over gentle nudging and helping them with what personal decision they think is correct, trying to find that delicate balance between encouraging and pushing too hard. The question I am always asking myself is: Am I pushing too hard? My struggling Reader!

So I've taken full ownership of my struggle (as I am sure many of you have), I wear it like a badge of shame a ugly cape for a very unsuccessful super hero.  I believe it is my fault that my daughter is not reading yet that at 8 she is not a strong reader.  I truly believe that there must have been something I could have done to help her get it better,  I go back and forth with the fact that maybe if she was in school with a real teacher helping her she would be a strong reader by now,,, I read somewhere the other day that "Struggle" shows that something is going on....Me being me I went and looked up the word struggle with new eyes.. Struggle is a verb It implies action It implies effort It implies giving all you've got. So I've come to understand that what this word means for me is that I'm not growing comfortable, that good enough is not enough for me.  That I am moving forward....  I am going to let up on myself and understand that eventually she will
